Besiktas believe they are moving closer to signing Robinho from Manchester City after reports suggested the Turkish side have had an €18M bid accepted by the Premier League club.

The Black Eagles are confident that they can do a deal with the Brazilian by meeting his personal terms, although it is difficult to see Manchester City consenting to the deal at that level unless it includes various add-ons for a player they paid £32.5M for.

Besiktas have already stated that they would need the help of sponsors in order to be able to afford the transfer and this gives the move a greater chance of collapse. However, within Turkey the Istanbul club are sounding positive about getting their man.

In Turkey, Robinho would link up with old Real Madrid team-mate Guti, who now plays for the club under the watchful eye of another former Real old boy in coach Bernd Schuster.

Besides Besiktas, German side Schalke are also keeping a watchful eye on proceedings.
