AC Milan are still chasing Zlatan Ibrahimovic and believe there are a number of options to allow them to bag the Swede before the transfer window slams shut. Barcelona are willing to let Ibrahimovic leave, but not on the cheap, and Milan must also feel confident meeting the former Inter striker’s large wage demands.

The options on the table for Milan, according to reports in Italy, are varied. The Serie A giants may sell Klaas-Jan Huntelaar to Schalke, using the money raised to help with their Ibrahimovic push. Another possibility is a season-long loan for the Swede, with the Italians sending Marco Borriello to the Camp Nou: Barcelona though would prefer Alexandre Pato, Thiago Silva or Andrea Pirlo.

There also remains the chance that Milan will simply scratch their finances together and launch a straight bid for Ibrahimovic. Soundings seem to have suggested that Barcelona would be willing to accept a fee between €35M-40M for the former Inter man. It is not this which worries Milan though, rather it is Ibrahimovic’s wage demands of €6M per year.
