Wigan have moved to bolster their squad by snapping up young midfielder Tom Cleverley from Manchester United. The 21-year-old will spend the entire 2010/11 season at the DW Stadium after the two clubs agreed a deal.
Boss Roberto Martinez has said that he regards Cleverley’s signing as a coup for the club and that the youngster "can play in a number of positions and will provide us with some good new options and add great competition to the squad."
Cleverley will gain vital first team experience with Wigan, but could face a relegation battle judging by the start to the season Martinez’s side have made.
