Panathinaikos’ young prodigy Sotiris Ninis has been linked with an end of season move to Manchester United by the British press. The Greek is just 20 years old, yet has already racked up more than half a century of appearances with the Athens giants.
Ninis broke onto the scene in 2007 and instantly aroused hope amongst the Panathinaikos faithful that a new superstar had been born. The attacking midfielder has been compared to a young Lionel Messi and the Super League side have seen Ninis capped by the senior Greece national team and begin to blossom.
Manchester United are reportedly ready to offer some €10M to secure Ninis, an amount which it is believed would meet the buy-out clause inserted in his contract. The Greek side may fight hard to keep hold of a youngster who they feel still has some way to go to fulfil his potential.
