Harry Redknapp hailed Tottenham Hotspur’s Champions League bow last night, as the Premier League side drew 2-2 in Germany with Werder Bremen. The English side had been 2-0 to the good, but saw two German goals, one either side of half time, bring the game level.

Redknapp though was not in the mood to reflect on two points lost.

"I thought we were fantastic in the first half", said the Spurs manager. "We came out, completely controlled the game and for 43 minutes we passed the ball unbelievably. It could have been more than 2-0 and if we were three or four goals up it would have been a fair reflection of the play."

Although Redknapp was disappointed to not secure the win after leading by two goals, the Spurs manager was full of praise for his side and encouraged by what he saw to hope for a bright Champions League future.
