Arsene Wenger has urged the Premier League to use video evidence in the case of Abou Diaby, who suffered a shocking challenge at the hands of Bolton Wanderers’ Paul Robinson last weekend.

The Arsenal manager is once again pushing for video evidence to be used in such cases and believes it would help to protect his players.

"I regret that video evidence can’t be used afterwards. I saw the tackle on Diaby. It was worth a straight red card", said Wenger.

"I can understand why the referee did not see it as he was positioned incorrectly, but the Premier League should be able to suspend players who do this kind of thing."
