While Jose Mourinho was happy to lead his Real Madrid side to a 2-0 Champions League win over Ajax last night, Los Blancos’ inability to score more goals worried the Portuguese.

Two goals from Gonzalo Higuain proved enough to see off the Dutch challenge at the Bernabeu, but even so, the scoreline means Real Madrid have managed just three goals in their last three competitive games – below what is expected from so many world-class players.

"It worries me that we had so many chances but only managed to score two goals", said Mourinho, before adding hopefully, "I’ve got training and we need more time to successfully adapt."

Told that Real Madrid are known for scoring plenty of goals, Mourinho recognised that fact and said: "I only ask the president, for time to work."
