Former Liverpool manager and current club ambassador Kenny Dalglish believes that Roy Hodgson has the squad at his disposal to ensure a successful 2010/11 campaign for the Anfield club.
Having seen the likes of Xabi Alonso and Javier Mascherano leave the Reds over the past two years, expectations had been played down.
But according to Dalglish, Hodgson has the players to be successful with Liverpool.
"[Raul] Meireles, [Steven] Gerrard, [Fernando] Torres and [Joe] Cole are four fantastic players", Dalglish told the club’s official website. "Add Pepe Reina – who is one of the best goalkeepers in the world – [Jamie Carragher], [Martin] Skrtel – who has started the season very well – Daniel Agger and Glen Johnson – we’re not too bad are we?"
The Scot said that while he appreciated it may be a "transitional" period for the club, he did not think it was "all doom and gloom".
