Roma defender Philippe Mexes has emerged as a target for La Liga side Sevilla. The Frenchman, who is in the last year of his contract at the Stadio Olimpico, is unsure whether to sign a new deal to remain with the Serie A giants, or move on to pastures new.
Reports from Italy suggest that Roma expect an approach to be forthcoming for the 28-year-old in January and, should they have failed to convince Mexes to sign a new deal by then, will be left with a decision over whether to sell mid-season and realise a fee.
Sevilla will most probably face competition for Mexes though, as a whole host of European powerhouses are keeping a close eye on the centre back, chief amongst them Arsenal and Chelsea.
