Slovak star Marek Hamsik is set to commit his future to Napoli and put an end to speculation linking him with a move. Hamsik has attracted attention from a whole host of clubs in the last 12 months, including Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City.
The 23-year-old attacking midfielder is though, now expected to ink a deal keeping him in Naples until 2015 according to his agent.
"It is a contract that is more economically advantageous than its predecessor", said Juraj Venglos. "Both Marek and Napoli are satisfied with the extension."
While it is unlikely signing a new long term contract will put off many of Hamsik’s suitors, it does perhaps give Napoli a much stronger negotiating position and mean that, if they do have to part ways, they can demand a substantial transfer fee for the Slovak.
