New Aston Villa boss Gerard Houllier has hailed striker Emile Heskey after the powerful frontman scored the winner in their Premier League clash with Wolves yesterday.
The game had seemed set to end in a draw, deadlocked as it was at 1-1, but up popped Heskey in the 88th minute to seal all three points for Villa.
Houllier, who signed Heskey when he was Liverpool manager and always stuck by the forward even in the face of fierce criticism, explained that the former Leicester forward just needs to believe in himself.
"All I ask of him is that he believes in himself", said Houllier, "because he has tremendous assets."
The Frenchman had handed Heskey his first start in the Premier League since 24th March and clearly still rates the player he coached to goals and trophies at Anfield.
"All strikers need a lot of confidence, and when Emile is feeling confident he is awesome."
