Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets has stated that he does not see himself as a star, but instead just a player who tries his best to help the team as he approaches 100 appearances for the club.

Busquets has made remarkable progress over the last 18 months and is now rightly regarded as one of the club’s best players, but the 22-year-old is not getting carried away.

Should the homegrown talent turn out against Rubin Kazan in Barcelona’s midweek Champions League clash, then Busquets will be clocking up his 100th appearance for the Catalan side. "I am proud to have played so many games in so little time", explained the midfielder. "I would like to reach 200 or 300 and go down in history for many more matches and titles won."

Busquets also added: "I do not think I am a star, or a media player, just a team player who tries to help his team-mates."
