Manchester United have suffered a blow with the news that Wayne Rooney will be out for two to three weeks. Sir Alex Ferguson felt that the injury the striker suffered against Bolton Wanderers did not look too serious and at first it did seem as if Rooney would just miss tonight’s Champions League clash at Valencia.

However, the news received about Rooney’s injury is not good and Ferguson confirmed that now the striker is facing "two to three weeks", on the sidelines.

This means Rooney will surely miss Man Utd’s weekend Premier League game against Sunderland and must also make the striker a big doubt for England’s Euro 2012 qualifier against Montenegro in October.

Ferguson however is confident that Rooney will return soon though. "He’s a big strong boy who has recovered well from other injuries in the past", said the Scot.
