Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini was not disheartened with the club’s 1-1 Europa League draw at home to Juventus last night, insisting that the Eastlands outfit will still make sure of qualification.
City needed Adam Johnson to slot home a cool finish after 37 minutes to level after Vincenzo Iaquinta struck a beautiful shot from outside the box which sailed past keeper Joe Hart to give the Old Lady the lead.
The result leaves City with three points from their two games so far and Mancini still confident that the Blues will be able to advance to the next stage.
"I am confident, for me it is a difficult group, with [Lech] Poznan (City’s next opponents) a good team and Juventus a good team. So it will not be easy, but I am confident we can go through."
Mancini also said the draw was a fair result against Juventus, although City’s second half display wasn’t great.
"I think the draw was fair. In the second half we were not as good as we could have been near goal, but Juventus had a lot of players back in defence."
