Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho has urged the club’s supporters to keep their feet on the ground after a goal frenzy at the Bernabeu last night. Los Blancos had seen questions raised over their potency in front of goal, but answered them in outstanding fashion by thrashing Deportivo La Coruna 6-1.

"We’re not the best team in the world just because we beat Deportivo 6-1", said the Portuguese boss, going on to remind the club’s fans that his work has not finished.

"We are still under construction and neither the result, nor the encouragement of the supporters, makes me think we have completed this job. There remains much work to do. I remain calm, there is much to do."

Despite Mourinho seeking to play down the victory he will no doubt be relieved that his side handed out a thrashing which will surely send a message to the rest of La Liga.
