France national team assistant coach Alain Boghossian has made clear that he is still annoyed with Nicolas Anelka. Laurent Blanc’s right hand man explained that Anelka has ruined the atmosphere at the last World Cup and should have been sent home earlier than he was.

"I am annoyed with him", said Boghossian to France Football, "he ruined the atmosphere. But I am also annoyed about myself, about us, about everything."

Boghossian, a midfielder who played in both Ligue 1 and Serie A during his career, also explained that Anelka should have been sent home as soon as his exclusion from the national team was decided upon, allowing him to remain an extra day was, according to the coach, a mistake.

"Nicolas should have left the stage as soon as his exclusion was imposed. However, on Saturday evening he is still there, he eats with the players and attends their meeting after dinner."
