Scotland midfielder Darren Ferguson has explained that the country are aiming to make sure they are difficult to beat when they face the Czech Republic tonight. The Scots picked up four points from their opening two group games in the race to reach Euro 2012, but with the Czech Republic and Spain to be played over the next few days, that may prove to have been a poor start.
"We’d obviously love to win the game", said Fletcher, "but if we can get any sort of result it would be positive in terms of qualifying.
"We want to win both games, but I think sometimes being difficult to beat is just as important. Our job is to frustrate them and to make it as difficult as possible."
Scotland will be looking to the striking power of Jamie Mackie when they face the Czechs. The QPR striker has been in good form in the English Championship this season and is preferred to Kenny Miller up front, in a move which has raised eyebrows north of the border.
