Former Inter sporting director Claudio Nassi has explained that he believes the Nerazzurri have reacted well to the departure of Jose Mourinho and still remain strong favourites to win Serie A this season, holding the best squad in the country.
Ahead of Inter’s trip to Cagliari this weekend, Nassi also stated that injuries cannot be used an an excuse, and Rafael Benitez’s side have the quality to come through.
"Inter are favourites at Cagliari and injuries do not weigh too heavily on the team. Benitez has a complete set, the best in Serie A. On paper, Inter are still the best team in Serie A."
Moving on to discuss Mourinho, Nassi said: "I’m not pessimistic on [the team’s] interaction, that’s for sure. It seems to me that the team have responded well to the departure of Mourinho."
