Liverpool should be bracing themselves for the loss of three first team stars. According to reports from Spain, Pepe Reina, Fernando Torres and Glen Johnson are all unhappy at Anfield and are looking to extricate themselves from the Merseyside club next summer.

The Premier League side are aware of the unhappiness of the trio and are making plans to cope with their exits, reports Catalan daily Sport. Reina, Johnson and Torres are all believed to have grown disillusioned with life at Liverpool and, despite the club being taken over recently by New England Sports Ventures, doubt their ability to challenge for silverware in the near future.

Barcelona are watching developments with Fernando Torres closely, and believe that he would be open to a switch to the Camp Nou. Torres’ boyhood affiliation with Atletico Madrid makes a switch to Real Madrid very unlikely, leaving the field clear for Josep Guardiola’s side.

Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson is thought to be keen on Diego Forlan as a possible replacement for Torres next summer, but the Uruguayan, who will be 32 before the 2011/12 campaign starts, would not represent a move for the future.
