Manchester City are reported to be considering a bid for Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko if Carlos Tevez decides he wants to return to Argentina. Tevez is known to be homesick at Eastlands and wants to head home at some point, although all the signs point to the Argentine fulfilling a contract running until 2014 with City.
However, Roberto Mancini is believed to be planning just in case Tevez decides he wants to return home earlier, and to this end has looked at Dzeko as a possible arrival. Wolfsburg have done well to keep hold of the Bosnian striker this long, given serious interest from Serie A, which is still his favoured destination.
City would have no problem paying any sum the Bundesliga side demand and should the deal take place in January, Steve McClaren could opt to ask for Roque Santa Cruz to be included in any agreement.
