Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson has warned opposing sides that it is only a matter of time until Portuguese star Raul Meireles finds the back of the net. The former FC Porto player has surprised all around Anfield with just how cleanly he can strike the ball and a sensational long-range goal is expected sooner rather than later.
"Meireles is a very good player and is a good striker of the ball", Hodgson told the club’s official website. "I’m sure his first goal for the club won’t be too far away. He will get goals for us and he is a class act that gives this team something different."
The Portugal international was brought in by Hodgson to replace Javier Mascherano, who was sold to Barcelona. And although the expectation was that Meireles would replace the Argentine, he is proving a very different type of player.
