Danish midfielder Christian Poulsen has stated that while he is happy with Liverpool, he cannot rule out the prospect of a switch away from the Merseyside club.

Poulsen was brought to Anfield last summer by then-boss Roy Hodgson and quickly became identified with the former Fulham manager’s unpopular reign. The situation has improved under Kenny Dalglish, with Poulsen being given more fan support and subsequently seeing his performances move up a notch.

But while he feels content at Liverpool, Poulsen was quick to say his continued presence at the club will depend on many factors and cannot be guaranteed.

"In football, you never know", said Poulsen.

"I and my family, we are fine here in Liverpool, I signed for three years, but we’ll see what happens. It will depend on many things my time [here]. For now I am happy here."

The 30-year-old has vast experience, having notably turned out for Schalke, Sevilla and Juventus before heading to Anfield. Should he wish to leave the club, there would surely be no shortage of suitors, most probably from his native Denmark and the Bundesliga where his stock is still high.
