Milovan Rajevac has returned to international football with the news that the Serb has signed a deal to take over as Qatar coach.

The 56-year-old was most recently in charge of Ghana at international level, and guided the African country through to the quarter-finals of last summer’s World Cup to great acclaim. After the tournament however, Rajevac was unable to find common ground with the Ghanaian FA over a new contract and left his position.

Rajevac takes over from Bruno Metsu, who himself took Qatar to the quarter-finals stage in the recent Asian Cup the country hosted, only falling to eventual winners Japan.
