According to reports from Italy, Chelsea are preparing to go head-to-head with Juventus for Santos’ exciting forward Neymar.

The Brazilian has declared his desire to see out 2011 with the Peixe (Fish), and even turned down a lucrative offer from Chelsea at the beginning of the year, deciding to stay put after an emotional heart-to-heart with his father.

Now though Santos have put a price on Neymar’s head and they look likely to push him towards the exit door if the figure is met. The amount the Brazilian side are looking for is believed to be between €30-35M, a heavy price to pay for a 19-year-old learning his trade.

Italian daily Tuttosport report that this will not put Chelsea off though, even if Juventus may find the figure a little rich for their liking. Nevertheless, the Old Lady are expected to do all they can to battle the Stamford Bridge outfit for Neymar’s signature, aware that his arrival would represent a real coup and serve as a statement of their ambitions to return to the top of the Italian game.
