Having refused approaches for his defender Domenico Criscito from AC Milan and Inter, Genoa president Enrico Preziosi is believed to be ready to accept an offer from Russian champions Zenit St. Petersburg.
Criscito has become hot property and both Milan sides were keen on taking the 24-year-old to Italy’s fashion capital. However, it is Zenit boss Luciano Spalletti, who well knows the player from his time in his homeland, who looks likely to win the race.
Zenit are thought to be offering €18M for Criscito, too much for Genoa to refuse. And selling the player abroad will also surely be a factor in Preziosi’s decision.
