Darren Fletcher has warned his Manchester United team-mates that they will have to be ready to face rejuvenated Liverpool side that has been inspired by Kenny Dalglish when they take to the pitch at Anfield today.

United have beaten the Reds twice this season, once in the Premier League and once in the FA Cup, with both of those victories coming at Old Trafford. But Fletcher has told his side not to take it for granted that they can record a hat-trick of wins against their fierce rivals.

"We know it is going to be a difficult game", said the midfielder to United’s official site.

"Dalglish is a couple of months into the job now and he has rejuvenated the place. Performance levels have improved.

"He was only made the manager that weekend [when United beat Liverpool in the FA Cup]. He didn’t have a lot of time to put his stamp on the team, but he has done that now. I have noticed a slightly different formation. It is something we will have to prepare for and be ready for."

Having lost to Chelsea on Tuesday, United will be desperate to avoid defeat to their bitter rivals, as they will run the real risk of entering a slump in form.
