Reports from Spain suggest Liverpool could be set to rival Newcastle for the signature of Sevilla winger Diego Perotti.
The 22-year-old Argentine has attracted interest from St. James’ Park, with suggestions that Alan Pardew is planning a summer swoop for the Sevilla star, but it is now thought Liverpool are keeping an eye on proceedings.
Sevilla are well adrift of the Champions League spots in La Liga this season and the talk is of big changes at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan. Perotti could well be sent on his way providing the price is right, with Sevilla thought to be looking for a figure in the region of €6M.
Newcastle, who have extensively scouted the winger, appear to still be in pole position, but the arrival of Liverpool on the scene would complicate matters, with the Argentine thought to prefer the prospect of a move to Anfield.
Other clubs believed to be keeping tabs on Perotti are Everton and Marseille.
