Ruud Gullit’s Russian side Terek Grozny are believed to be speaking to Atletico Madrid about the possibility of snapping up Uruguayan striker Diego Forlan.
Terek are determined to make a splash, as evidenced by Gullit’s own appointment as coach, and the arrival of Forlan at the Russian Premier League outfit would turn many heads.
Forlan, voted the best player at last summer’s World Cup, is now 31 years old and a switch to Terek could hand the striker a lucrative contract as his career is winding down.
Terek are keen to go from relegation battlers to European hopefuls this season and Forlan would no doubt help the transformation.
