Genoa are weighing up a move for current FC Porto coach Andre Villas Boas at the end of the season.

The Rossoblu’s current coach Davide Ballardini is not expected to lead the side into the 2011/12 Serie A campaign, and Genoa believe that Villas Boas could be the man to spark a revival in their fortunes.

Villas Boas is a former right hand man of Jose Mourinho, having worked with his fellow Portuguese at Chelsea and Inter, before opting to move into management rather than stay with the current Real Madrid boss.

The Portuguese is impressing this season, leading FC Porto to the Portuguese title, while his side are still involved in the Europa League. There are though other sides interested in the 33-year-old and Genoa could face a tough time persuading Villas Boas to take over at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris.
