AC Milan striker Alexandre Pato has reflected on his side's exit from the Champions League with increased disappointment as he feels the Rossoneri dominated their second leg match with Tottenham Hotspur.

Having lost the first leg in Milan 1-0, a 0-0 draw played out at White Hart Lane was enough to send Spurs through and Milan, to Pato's disappointment, out.

"I had some shots and tried to score, but it went like this", said Pato. "Now we have to put the elimination behind us and look ahead to our next Serie A and Coppa Italia games."

And Pato believes that it was the nature of the knockout to Spurs which was most disappointing, with the Rossoneri ruling the game.

"It's disappointing to get knocked out of the Champions League in this way. It's hard to take, because we dominated the game, but in the end we had to pay for the goal conceded at the San Siro."

Milan look set to play Champions League football again next season however, with Pato's side leading the Serie A standings.
