Manchester City will meet Manchester United in the FA Cup semi-final after both sides won their respective quarter-final ties, and it is a match City boss Roberto Mancini is desperate to play.
United saw off Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal 2-0 at Old Trafford on Saturday before Mancini’s City team beat Reading 1-0 at Eastlands. And then the draw pitted the two Manchester clubs together.
"We have played two games against Manchester United this season and played very well", said Mancini.
"We have a good chance to get through to the final. I think that Manchester City is now very close to Manchester United."
For United, the semi-final offers Sir Alex Ferguson another chance to impose what the Red Devils see as the natural order of things on a side Ferguson himself has dubbed "the noisy neighbours".
