Bayern Munich could face opposition for the signature of Wolfsburg midfielder Diego after it emerged that Schalke are keen to join the race for the Brazilian.
Diego is expected to quit the Volkswagen Arena in the summer after the Wolves’ poor season which could yet result in relegation from the Bundesliga, and there will be no shortage of offers for the player.
Bayern were believed to be in the driving seat with Diego unsure on a possible return to Italy after an unhappy spell with Juventus. Now however, Schalke have entered the running and could try to convince the former Werder Bremen schemer to head to the Ruhr rather than Munich.
