Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has bemoaned a lack of creativity for the side’s Europa League exit to Portuguese club Braga last night.
The Reds started the match at Anfield 1-0 down from the first leg in Portugal and, despite huffing and puffing for most of the game, could not breach the Portuguese side’s backline. A 0-0 draw was the final outcome and it meant that Dalglish’s European adventure was over.
"Over the two legs it was a penalty kick that decided it. That’s about right. There was not much between either side", said the Liverpool boss post match.
And the Scot also reflected on the lack of creativity that his side showed, pinpointing it as a real reason that Braga were not beaten.
"You need to be strong creatively if you are going to break down a really organised side. Or you need a bit of luck.
"We certainly didn’t have much fortune over the two legs, but I suppose everyone would say the same thing. Like every other team in the world we could use a bit more creativity, but we are no different to anyone else."
