Sources in Italy have confirmed that AC Milan midfielder Gennaro Gattuso has been sounded out by Russian Premier League outfit Anzhi Makhachkala over a possible switch at the end of the current season.

Anzhi are determined to bag another big name this season after tempting Roberto Carlo and Diego Tardelli to Dagestan, and hope a lucrative offer can persuade Gattuso to make the move from Milan to Makhachkala.

Asked about the possibility of following Roberto Carlos to Russia, the Milan man replied: "In life, you never know, but Milan is my home."

If the Rossoneri were to win this season’s Scudetto then it is possible Gattuso could consider it the perfect way to bow out of Milan and head east for one last pay day.
