Juventus striker Luca Toni has held out the prospect of the Old Lady swooping for his former Bayern Munich team-mate Franck Ribery in the summer, explaining that he has spoken to the Frenchman about his future.
The Turin giants are set to invest heavily in their squad over the summer as they seek to make sure next season is the one in which they return to Italy’s top four, and signing Ribery would be a huge statement of intent.
"The club officials will sign quality players this summer and I hope they make an attempt for Franck Ribery", said Toni to Tuttosport.
"I know him well, he is a good guy and a great player. He has been one of my best friends since the time I was at Bayern. We keep in touch and I recently spoke with him about the near future. Ribery is not entirely happy at Bayern and I told him to join Juventus – we’ll see what happens in a few months."
Bayern Munich can be expected to fight to keep hold of Ribery however, with the German giants sure the Frenchman is crucial to their continued success.
