Bayern Munich’s new coach Jupp Heynckes is delighted to have agreed a return to the club he has bossed on two previous occasions.

The 65-year-old will leave Bayer Leverkusen at the end of the current campaign and head to Munich, where he has signed a deal running until 2013.

"I have twice been Bayern coach", explained Heynckes, "and always appreciated the working environment.

"It’s natural that you have to have success as Bayern coach. I understand that, but I see it as a fascinating task to achieve it with the team over the next two seasons."

Heynckes has vast experience in the dugout, having managed in Spain and Portugal in addition to his native Germany. The former striker has bossed Real Madrid, Benfica and Schalke amongst others in a glittering career.
