The competition for former Real Madrid forward Ruud van Nistelrooy is intensifying with options for the Dutchman in Italy, Portugal, England and his homeland Holland.
Van Nistelrooy will leave current club Hamburg in the summer, still smarting from the Bundesliga outfit’s refusal to allow him to answer Real Madrid’s striking SOS in the January transfer window.
And the list of clubs interested in the 34-year-old’s services is growing.
From Italy, Napoli, Genoa and Lazio lead the chase, while Newcastle United offer a Premier League opportunity, Ajax and PSV Eindhoven would like to take Van Nistelrooy home, and Sporting Lisbon are keen for the Dutchman to pitch up in Portuguese football.
Only time will tell which option Van Nistelrooy takes, but he has not shortage of them.
