Liverpool’s shirt sponsors Standard Chartered have urged the club to keep Kenny Dalglish as manager.

The Scot took over from Roy Hodgson earlier this year and has significantly improved results at Anfield. Indeed, so much so that Standard Chartered head of sponsorship Gavin Laws has urged Liverpool to keep Dalglish on a long-term basis.

"I’d like to see Kenny as the long-term manager", said Laws, before adding: "I’m sure the club would.

"They are going to be talking to him if they aren’t talking to him already."

And Laws believes that the effect Dalglish has had is truly worldwide.

"The Kenny magic is all around the world, everybody believes Kenny can take the club [forward], and that means they stay focused and that means they stay in the newspapers around the world. We are looking for brand awareness."
