Current Ligue 1 champions Marseille are already planning for the eventuality of coach Didier Deschamps leaving in the summer.
While Marseille are keen to keep hold of Deschamps and will do all they can to ward off potential interested parties, there is a belief that the Frenchman could be released from his current deal if a club pay €3M. And this means the former Juventus boss’ departure could be a realistic proposition.
Therefore Marseille are making plans and one name featuring prominently on their list is former Italy coach Marcello Lippi.
Currently without a club, Lippi has hinted that he is ready to return to management and the 62-year-old would surely find the prospect of taking over at Marseille an attractive one.
