AC Milan midfielder Andrea Pirlo has sought to play down the importance of tomorrow’s derby against Inter, insisting the game will not decide the destination of the Serie A title.
As the Rossoneri have stumbled, Inter have caught up and now lie just two points behind their city rivals. Should Leonardo’s side win the derby, they will leapfrog Milan and lead the league table, with just seven games left to play.
"We are leading the way with some points, but we know we face several difficult games", admitted Pirlo.
And on the derby, the midfielder commented: "It’s always a special game, and while it could decide the title, there are still many games and it may not be so decisive."
