While current Bayern Munich coach Louis van Gaal has speculated openly about spending one year out of the game when he leaves the Allianz Arena club at the end of the season, it appears he may be back sooner than planned.

The Dutchman has been linked with Juventus, with the Turin giants keen to appoint a new coach to lead them back into the Champions League spots next season following a disappointing Serie A campaign.

Recently, the Van Gaals table-talk was overheard in a Munich restaurant with the comment: "Maybe we go to Turin", and this was swiftly reported by German daily Bild.

Van Gaal would be a popular choice as the new Juventus coach given his achievements in the game, although striker Luca Toni, who had an uneasy relationship with his former boss, could be less than pleased.
