Reports from Italy suggest next week will be crucial in determining the future of Alberto Aquilani.
Aquilani, currently on loan at Juventus from Liverpool, will see his agent Frank Zavala meet Juventus general manager Giuseppe Marotta to discuss what will happen to the midfielder come the end of the season.
While Juventus have been impressed with Aquilani, the feeling in Turin is that the amount demanded by Liverpool as part of the loan agreement, some €16.5M, is too high.
Aquilani is keen to remain in Italy however, and Juventus may yet try to negotiate with Liverpool to bring the Italian’s price down.
AC Milan are also watching proceedings carefully as they believe the midfielder could be a worthwhile acquisition, while Aquilani’s former club Roma, being taken over by rich investor Thomas DiBenedetto, hold faint hopes of taking "the little prince" back to the capital.
A return to Liverpool too is a possibility, with the Anfield club now under the "pass-and-move" management of Kenny Dalglish.
