AC Milan chief executive Adriano Galliani has poured cold water on talk that midfielder Gennaro Gattuso could move to Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala at the end of the season.

Anzhi, who have already snapped up Roberto Carlos and Diego Tardelli from Brazil, are keen on the Italian midfielder and have made the player a lucrative offer to end his career in the Russian Premier League. But it is not an offer Gattuso will accept believes Galliani.

"I don’t think he will leave", mused Galliani.

"He has another year of contract with us and even if an important offer arrives I think that he will remain with us."
