Bayern Munich are thought to have added another name to their list of possible defensive reinforcements – Chelsea’s Alex.

The 28-year-old Brazilian has been pushed further down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge due to the arrival of countryman David Luiz from Benfica in the January transfer window.

This season Alex has made just 11 starts in the Premier League and his future with Chelsea appears unclear, particularly if he wants regular first team football.

Bought from Santos by the Blues and then loaned to Dutch side PSV Eindhoven for three seasons, Alex could well find a switch to Bayern Munich to be an attractive proposition.
