Serie A side Lazio are preparing to battle for the signature of Wolfsburg’s creative midfield spark Diego.
The Brazilian only returned to the Bundesliga from Serie A in the summer following a disappointing spell at Juventus. However, with the Wolves Diego has also endured a season to forget, with the side sacking coach Steve McClaren earlier in the season and embroiled in a relegation battle, now under the management of Felix Magath.
Lazio are preparing a bid of €12-13M for Diego but are also well aware that the former Werder Bremen schemer is also attracting attention from Schalke and Liverpool. However, the Rome club hope that, if they can grab a Champions League spot for next season, this will give them the edge in the chase for the attacking midfielder.
