Roma defender Philippe Mexes has admitted that he expects to be pulling on the AC Milan jersey next season. The French centre back is out of contract with the Giallorossi in the summer and his wage demands – reported as €6M a season – have seen no new deal signed at his current club.

Mexes is currently out injured and not expected to feature for Roma again before the end of the Serie A campaign.

"AC Milan? There has been a lot of talk about such a move and I will probably go there", said Mexes to Gazzetta dello Sport.

"After seven years in Rome I am very close to the city, the fans and the club. My son was born in Rome and I feel Roman. Football is like this though and I have to make the best decision for myself."
