Serie A giants Roma are ready to offer Wolfsburg defender Simon Kjaer a quick return to Italy this summer as they rival Bayern Munich for the Dane’s signature.
Kjaer swapped Italian football for German last summer, moving from Palermo to Wolfsburg. But with the Wolves struggling in the Bundesliga and in the midst of a relegation fight, the 22-year-old looks set to seek pastures new in the summer.
Bayern Munich have been continually linked with the Danish stopper, but now Roma look set to rival the Bavarian side, offering Kjaer a swift return to Serie A.
The defender’s attitude towards a move to either club is unknown, but with Bayern prepared to spend heavily following a disappointing season, and Roma owned by new investor Thomas DiBenedetto, an auction for Kjaer could well ensue.
