Reports from Spain suggest Jose Mourinho is keen on Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure. The Portuguese wants to add some strength to the middle of Los Blancos’ park and feel the Ivory Coast star could fit the bill.
Mourinho has long been on the lookout for a player of physical strength, a midfield bulldozer, to add to his options at the Bernabeu and was linked with Juventus’ Mohamed Sissoko in the January transfer window.
However, a striker was the priority then, and Mourinho put all his efforts into signing Emmanuel Adebayor on loan from City. Now, according to Catalan daily Sport, the former Chelsea boss has turned his attention to another Eastlands player in Toure.
Toure would bring instant La Liga experience through a successful spell with Barcelona and provide Mourinho with the midfield power he is desperate for.
Whether City would allow Toure to leave, and whether the Ivory Coast man would be interested in moving to the Bernabeu, remains to be seen.
