Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo has assured his team-mates that Barcelona are not from another planet and are beatable. Los Blancos set up a mouth-watering Champions League semi-final against the Catalans last night as they beat Tottenham Hotspur 5-0 on aggregate.
Now Real Madrid face the prospect of four Clasicos in quick successions as they meet Barcelona this weekend in La Liga, then face their rivals in the Copa del Rey final, before contesting two Champions League semi-final legs.
"It was a very important step", said Ronaldo about the victory over Spurs. "We won the tie and that was the objective. We are closer to the final, but now we play against a harder team in the Champions League."
But the Portuguese star told his team-mates that Barcelona are from the same footballing planet as Real Madrid and are beatable.
"Barcelona’s players are not from another world, they are like us, the best in this world."
