English Premier League duo Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United are thought to be eyeing up a move for Ajax’s Vurnon Anita.
The 22-year-old came close to a switch to Spanish side Malaga in January and Manuel Pellegrini’s men could return if they retain their La Liga status; Marseille too are monitoring proceedings.
Anita, a defender-cum-midfielder, is expected to depart the Amsterdam ArenA in the summer and the player himself has already admitted that competing in a bigger league is an attractive proposition.
A product of Ajax’s famed youth academy, Anita has played for Holland at Under-17, Under-19, Under-21 levels, and has also broken through into the senior squad. The 22-year-old was included in Bert van Marwijk’s initial World Cup squad, but did not make the final cut of 23.
